I am a proud northerner andjust want to know why people hate us ?

i am from preston in lacashire and i am a proud northerner and it always gets on my nerves when people take the piss out of us. i dont understand why everyone does, on tv, in sport, the papers i dont understand why. we give you the best hows on tv and great sportsmen like andrew flintoff and people still hate us. i also dont understand why you southerers hate our accent too. bing from preston i have a very broad lancashire accent and i love it as it shows my heritage and life but why do you people take the piss out of it ?
