Requirements for being a flight attendent etc?

One of my options is to become a flight attendent. But I wanted to know all the requirements of becoming one. I know you have to be a certain height/weight, can speak another language, hs diploma, 18 or 21yrs of age to start, it's a hard job in that you can work long hours etc. But is attraction a really big thing? Cuz I have a purplish birthmark on my hand and I'm afraid they'll not hire me because of it :( . Oh and also how do I apply for the job? Do I go to the airlines website? How does it all work? And if you were or are a flight attendent how is the job? Is it boring/hard/difficult etc thanks!
