Relationship problem?

alrighty, well, this girl I've liked for a while just got a boyfriend and I've told her how much i liked her and she said back to me "well i really don't think you like me." How could you say that to someone first of all, and then a week after start dating this other kid? I don't know. If you can help, that would mean so much to me.
