Worried about tonsillitis?

Before Christmas I'd been feeling a bit under the weather, but on Christmas day I couldn't eat much and then Sunday it developed into not enough energy to move, sweating and chills, feeling sick, couldn't eat a thing, bad chest and what felt like little jumps in my heart. A few days later I nearly vomitted and would have cravings for random food then not be able to eat it when I got it. Went to the docs and he said I have tonsillitis and my glands are extremely swollen and gave me antibiotics. Almost 8 days on I feel much better in terms of weakness and I can finally eat but i can only eat lettuce, yoghurt or special k and don't really fancy anything else yet.. I was just wondering how long it takes for this to clear up.. last night it felt like pus was leaking from my right tonsil so i couldn't sleep and it made me have bad stomach acid, is this a sign it's clearing up? I'm just a bit worried, my tonsils are still looking very swollen that I can't see much of the hole of my throat and I don't know if I'm just being anxious but my skin looks a slight yellowish more red colour than usual, like a bit of a weird colour, but not sure if this is just part of the infection.
