Child/Pediatric Nurses - what do you do in a day?

There is some compion and comforting involved, as with any nursing...but a lot of your time is spent on the medical aspect of things. Especially charting. You also see a lot of kids in horrible situations, and you need to be prepared to deal with this (for example...kids in home abuse situations, paralyzed or disabled children, children in end-of-life stages, etc). But, I suggest nursing still, because no other field is as diverse as nursing...you can literally do whatever you want with it!
