Does a hickey on a girl make a guy jealous?

Long story short. I went out with this guy I was dating. Ended up getting a hickey. But I am not with him. Meanwhile there's a guy who I like and I believe likes me. But he ended up seeing the hickey. Yet he still wanted to hang out. In some way, is there a chance this increased his motivation to step up more and show how he feels? Or should I just give him sometime before I expect anything from him? Serious answers please!! Thanks so much.
