My brothers and i want to move the laundry to the first floor but my sister says it will ruin the resale value

my parents are older and have a hard time navigating the stairs.my sister is concerned about the resale value of the house if we make a bedroom into a laundry room on the main floor. i say worry about the resale value later and concentrate on moms comfort now.
