Why are there so many?

There was first the truth which was taught by Jesus and the apostles and is recorded in the Bible for us and as long as there was at least one apostle still alive, there was some sort of restraint on things. But then, once that one died, Satan poisoned the thinking of many, even inside the Christian congregations. Soon, the Catholic Church evolved, the first organized false religion, and because the Bible was in Latin and the mes could not understand, they were able to mislead many. One man did not "throw his narrow views" on the Jehovah's Witness religion. He simply organized Bible studies to figure out what the Bible really says. He began with King James Versions and widened his studies to involve hundreds of different translations--but still Bibles (unlike the Mormons who have added a different Book, Jehovah's Witnesses simply use a translation they prefer but it is still the same Bible). Jehovah's Witnesses also continue to study from hundreds of other translations and quote from them in much of their literature.
